We Never Learn Season 3: Renewal Status!

Last year, the fans saw two brilliant seasons of this anime series only in eight months. Therefore they thought the third season would also get a quick renewal. However, it never happened. The fact is that the makers of this anime concluded its storyline with the finale of the second season. The anime was going way too ahead of its source material. It adapted the initial chapter but then molded the plot. Even the author of the manga also stated that the viewers would see a different ending in the manga series. Therefore they didn’t renew the anime for We Never Learn Season 3. 

Is There Enough Source Material?

Taishi Tsutsui, the author of the manga series, has published 19 volumes of the manga series so far, which have a total of 177 chapters. The 19th volume of the manga was recently released on October 2, 2020. But in the two seasons of the anime series, Arvo Animation only adapted the first 69 chapters of it. They only used the content up to the 8th volume of the manga series. And that means the makers still have more than enough source material to create We Never Learn Season 3. They have more than 100 chapters to choose from for the plot of the third installment. 

Will The Anime Ever Return?

Everyone has been asking whether they will see the third season of this anime or not. And to be honest, the chances are very slim. The creators have enough source material, but the anime series already modified its plot and provided a proper conclusion. After the second season finished airing, Taishi Tsutsui also posted a message on his Twitter handle hinted at the end of the anime.

He tweeted, “Thank you for following the last episode of the anime. Thank you very much for doing such an excellent animation with the help of many people. Regarding the significance between the last episode of the anime and the ultimate development of the original story… No comment. I believe that the original story will advance to be enjoyed. Thanks!”

Ten years is a very long period of time. But J.C. Staff, the production studio of this anime, hasn’t spoken a single word regarding the future of the show in all these years. Goblin Slayer Season 2: What Will Happen?

The following season of the anime series will most likely adopt the plot from the third and fourth volumes of the light novel series. Therefore the fans will see Goblin Slayer going on a different mission right at the beginning of the second season. The Goblin Slayer-san, aka Orcbolg and Priestess, will go on to save the lives of kidnapped maidens from goblins sneaking in a mine. However, in the second season, the goblins will become more intelligent. They now have different types of equipment rather than simple tools. 

Goblin Slayer Season 2 will also present a new adversary known as “Dark Elf.” He is a part of the Evil Sect as well. Dark Elf intends to resurrect the Demon Lord after falling in the battle against Sword Maiden’s party. He’ll join in a peaceful gathering in Frontier town to face Orcbolg in a battle.

Goblin Slayer Season 2: Release Date

It is likely that White Fox will begin the production of the second season from the next year. And if it happens, then the fans will see the following season very soon. Goblin Slayer Season 2 might make its on-screen return in late 2022.
