After a long wait, there’s finally some hope for the return of the Spartan warrior Kratos and his son Atreus at the PlayStation. However, God Of War 5 will take a while to be available for the gamers. The developer of the game, Santa Monica Studio, is currently working on the new season. But when will it release? What will happen next? Here’s everything to know.

Back in 2005, God Of War I took the gaming world by storm upon debut. Over the years, the action-adventure video game has become a flagship title for PlayStation. The first part came out on PS2, while God Of War II and III appeared on PlayStation 3. All seven of the initial games were based (loosely) on Greek mythology. However, 2018’s fourth part changed the series and followed North mythology. This version came out on PS4 and became the Game of the Year of 2018 and one of the best selling video games on the PlayStation.

Is ‘God Of War 5’ Confirmed?

For the last two years, gamers have been looking for another season of the popular action game. While the creators have been giving away a few hints, they haven’t officially confirmed God Of War 5. However, that does not mean that the series won’t return. In fact, speculations say that the confirmation might arrive at our doors anytime soon.

Fans started talking about the renewal of the fifth version back in March 2020, when a tweet by game director Cory Barlog became viral. His post did not confirm anything as such, however, it hinted that the creators are planning to launch the ninth game on PlayStation 5. Amidst the burning rumors and anticipations, Santa Monica has given out several job openings.

These job openings include one for a lead writer, another for a Technical Art Lead, and the third one for a Senior Combat Designer. While the first two aren’t directly related to God Of War, the third one required the applicants to have knowledge of 2018’s God Of War. Inverse points out that these job openings could mean that Santa Monica is preparing to start the productions of the new game.

On the other hand, back in April 2018, game director Cory Barlog said in an interview that the production already has enough ideas to create at least five new games in the franchise. When fans got excited to hear the news, Barlog confirmed on Twitter that he was being candid in the interview. He continued to say that Santa Monica currently has no plans for five seasons of the game. Yet, speculations say that the studio might have enough content for at least one more season. Hence, hopes are still high for the renewal of God Of War 5.

What Will Happen Next?

In the finale battle at the end of 2018’s God Of War, Kratos finally defeats Baldur, the Norse God of light. The Spartan warrior and his son, Atreus, then travel to Jotunheim in order to scatter Faye’s (Kratos’ wife and Atreus’ mother) ashes. However, only then it is revealed that Faye was actually a giant called Laufey. According to this, her son Atreus becomes half-god and half-giant, and with another name, Loki.

When asked about his identity and Faye’s legacy, Kratos deflects all of Atreus’ questions. Yet, this suggests that Atreus’ curiosity might rise in God Of War 5. On the other hand, Baldur’s death could finally mark the arrival of Ragnarök. This could lead us to the calamitous event in the Norse mythology called the Twilight of the Gods. This prophecy can bring upon the death of many gods, that can be featured in God Of War 5.

Most importantly, Thor can join-in in the ninth game. He appeared in a secret cut scene at the end of the game and confronted Kratos. Well, this encounter can make things quite spicy in God Of War 5.

God Of War 5: Release Date

As of now, Santa Monica is yet to confirm the return of the popular action game. However, as mentioned above, the creators have already started working on the new season. Fans have to understand that the production of the game can take years to complete. The 2018 fourth part of the video game took five years to hit PS4. Hence, even if Santa Monica renews the sequel right away, gamers won’t be able to play it until 2022 or 2023. We will update this section as soon as an official launch date comes out.

Little Nightmares 2: Renewal Updates

Years after its original release, developer Tarsier Studios and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment finally announced the renewal of the popular game. The sequel was announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live, back in August 2019. An official trailer was revealed alongside the big news. Luckily for fans, Little Nightmares’ senior narrative designer, Dave Mervik, ended up giving a bunch of exciting details about the second part.

What Will The Sequel Be About?

The original horror adventure game entirely focused on Six making her way out of this nightmarish universe. By the end, the starving girl is seen sitting by the entrance of the Maw, awaiting rescue. Meanwhile, a foghorn from an approaching ship was heard in the background. Well, the story of Light Nightmares 2 is expected to continue thereafter.

The official synopsis of the sequel reveals that after the incidents of the first part, Six meets a new character Mono. In Little Nightmares 2, the two of them must work together to navigate through the City and reach the Black/Signal Tower, controlled by the mysterious Broadcaster. Six and Mono will some creepy never seen before locations in the Maw. Moreover, the players might even get to see some outdoor environments, as well. These locations include the Forest, the School, the Hospital, and the Black Tower.

Senior narrative designer of the puzzle-platformer game revealed during Gamescom 2019 that Little Nightmare 2 could feature some combat. The sequel’s official trailer shows off a few kitchen utensils that will likely be used as game weapons. More importantly, the players can use them to keep themselves safe. Well, these weapons will be used to defend oneself more than attacking anything. Yet, the new feature will be an interesting addition to the second part.

New Characters!

Alongside some new locations in the Maw, Little Nightmares 2 is set to introduce some latest characters as well. As mentioned before, Six’s companion Mono will be the highlight of the second part. Yet, aside from him, players will get to fight some of the creepiest characters on the game ever. Here are some details about them.

Mono

In a recent Tweet, the creators revealed some details about the most-anticipated character of Little Nightmares 2. Mono is described as an uncommonly single-minded young child. He is quite purposeful and stubborn to achieve his goals. When he sets himself to a task, Mono rarely gives up before it’s completed for good.

The character appears to be a young boy who is either shy or unwilling to show his personality. Hence, he wears different objects on his head, out of which the most prominent is a paper bag with two eye holes. Mono carries a large key that might have an important story. As of the trailer, he looks quite strong as he carries weapons to defend himself from the enemies. He is also the main protagonist of Little Nightmares 2, alongside Six.

The Teacher & Her Students

The creators of the famous horror game have added another creepy character to the new season. The Teacher will make an uncanny appearance in Little Nightmares 2. As per an official tweet, the educator has an unusual ability to detect troublemakers. Her class is full of well-behaved children, and it won’t be easy to escape under her eye. According to a fan theory, these children can be the ones who were mummified by the Janitor.

The Hunter is yet another brand new addition in the creepy character list of the game. As per his official description, the Hunter seems to work alone while stalking the wilderness with a rusty shotgun and lantern-style torch. Well, his motives still lie unknown, but he seems to have an interest in Taxidermy, which doesn’t sound good for the children. The creators are yet to define the Viewers and the Broadcasters. However, these might have some relations with the Black/Signal Tower.

In fact, after the release of the latest New Game manga volume, the future of its anime adaptation looks bright. So when will the new episodes come out? Here’s everything you need to know.

New Game! turned out to be one of the earliest additions in the ‘Cute Girl Does Cute Things’ genre. With its debut back in July 2016, the series became immensely popular amongst the fans of the CGDCT genre and shoujo otakus. Lead character Aoba Suzukaze won millions of hearts which led to the renewal of a second season. The anime adaptation of 2014’s manga series is also appreciated as a slice of life and comedy show.

While its creators have resisted talking about New Game Season 3, speculations say that it will get into production sooner this year. Ever since the Season 2 finale back in September 2017, there has been a constant demand for a third installment. Yet, studio Dago Kobo is yet to wave a green.

One of the main reasons behind its delay was the lack of source material. The studio had exhausted almost all available manga volumes. Hence, they couldn’t produce anymore episodes since the last few years. Well, luckily, after the release of the recent manga volumes, the creators will now have enough content to create another installment.

Moreover, the studio might not miss the chance of producing another season of their successful anime. The first two installments turned out to be pretty profitable for Dago Kobo. Besides, due to its genre, New Game Season 3 is likely to do better business this time around. Given that there’s sufficient source material to create new episodes, the studio might grab the opportunity as early as possible.

What Will New Game!!! Be About?

The story of the popular anime centers around the leading character, Aoba Suzukaze. Being a fan of fantasy video game ‘Fairies Story,’ she begins working for the game’s developer, Eagle Jump. Aoba soon becomes acquainted with her colleagues in the character design department. The series follows Aoba and all others in her office, as they attempt to design and develop a perfect game.

New Game! originated as a manga series back in 2014, and was later adapted as an anime a couple of years later. The 2016 debut season covered the plot of almost three volumes of its source material. Whereas, Season 2 ended exhausted the remaining three volumes as of that time in 2017. While the books were arriving sooner before that, mangaka Shōtarō Tokunō took a year to launch Volume 7.

As of now, ten volumes of the manga have been launched, out of which the most recent one came out in January 2020. As per Tokuno’s release pattern, Volume 11 might come out anytime soon. Now that there’s enough source material for New Game Season 3, it will likely cover Volume 7 through 10. Well, as per the plot of these manga volumes, the three friends, Aoba, Yun, and Koba will be in a serious battle, being the character designers of Fairies Story.

Currently, none of the companies related to the production of the anime have confirmed the return of New Game Season 3. However, speculations suggest that the studio might begin working on the new season after the end of the Coronavirus pandemic. Yet, any New Game!!! episodes may not premiere earlier than mid to late 2021.
