FX’s cultural drama, Pose, has broken a lot of stereotypes regarding the lives and the culture of the LGBTQ community throughout three seasons. The previous installment came out in May 2021 and featured a total of seven episodes. Pose is the network’s highest-rated drama series to receive various nominations and awards, including the Gloden Globe and The prime Time Emmy’s. Thus, fans have been eagerly awaiting the show’s return for Pose Season 4, as three seasons does not seem enough.

The first season was set between 1887-88. It focused on the several taboo sections of life and society in New York. The first installment explored the African-American and Latino ball culture, the rise of the Drag, and the yuppie milieu. Moreover, season 2 was set in the years 1990 and depicted the character being forced to deal with HIV-AIDS. It shows the dreadful side of the LQBTQ, who were left to deal with the disease on their own.

The characters planned various fundraisers, movements, and memorial services to survive through the epidemic together. The second season also depicted how several members of the community took new opportunities as dancers and teachers while others had to adapt to dominatrices and strip jobs to survive. 

Next, the third installment, which began in the year 1994, depicted Blanca trying to balance her life as a nurse aide, a mother, and her partner Christopher. Season 3 also focused on the reassembly of House of Evangelista. Lemar’s father played a crucial role in organizing a new group named House of Khan while helping Prey tell with health scarce. Pose Season 4: Will The Show Return For Another Season?

As per the show’s creators, Pose was always meant to last for three seasons. So, it is highly unlikely that the show would return for Pose Season 4. However, the network has not canceled the series yet. Showrunner Steven Canals also shared his perspective on the show’s future while talking to Variety.

According to Steven, if we go back to the first season, the characters managed to achieve what they aimed for by the end of the third season. He explained how the final season was always meant to be the conclusion of the three-arc narrative. Steven also added how the finale allowed the characters to explore what it meant to have everything that they ever wished for in the first season. 

For Blanca, it meant finding a new job, fighting for the rights of HIV and AIDS patients, and exploring a newfound relationship with her new partner Christopher. Moreover, Angel and Papi took further steps to take their relationship towards the next phase.

Steven also shared that there were discussions in the writers about continuing the narratives around these characters in this world. However, they did not want another season to look like a filler. He mentioned that the last thing he wanted was to create a narrative with no real intention. He could see the conclusion at the end of the third season, and it made sense for him to land the plan comfortably. So, they decided not to go ahead with Pose Season 4.

How Did The Final Season End?

In the third season finale, Pray Tell’s mother, Charlene, visited Blanca. She thanks Blanca for being a mother to him and taking care of him during his last days. She shared half of Pray’s ashes and some heart-shaped lockets as per his death wish. Meanwhile, ACT protested by dumping the ashed of their loved ones who had died of HIV on the mayor’s lawn. At Pray’s apartment, Blanca handed out the lockets and read what Tell had written about his ballroom family. And Ricky dressed in all black and performed on “The Man I Love” with the gay men’s choir. 

Four years in time, Blanca celebrated getting a job as a nurse and her fourth anniversary with Christopher. Blanca visited Judy on the hospital’s fourth floor as the duo reminisced the moments of their past. Blanca then revealed an HIV diagnosis to a patient at St. Vincent’s and invited her to be a part of the next ball on Saturday. 

Further, Blanca met Elektra, Lulu, and Angel for lunch, who all became quite successful in their respective fields. Elektra awarded Blanca a Legendary status at the ball. Another ball mother asked Blanca how she could keep going without winning any awards or gaining recognition. Blanca replied that lifting up the children’s lives and showing support was the only reason that kept her going at the end of Pose Season 3.

The lead cast members of Pose included MJ Rodriguez as Blanca Evangelista, a trans woman with AIDS and a former member of the House of Abundance. The third episode of Servant Season 3 is titled “Hair.” In a flashback, Julian found baby Jericho dead in the crib as he ended up vomiting. He cried hard in fear and sorrow while trying to revive his catatonic sister. In the present, Julian and Leanne decide to prove that Jericho is actually Leanne’s baby. Dorothy went to work to cover a news story while Sean took Leanne to the park. However, Leanne got paranoid after a homeless person asked Sean for spare change. She requested to leave the park and go home immediately. Dorothy returned home in the evening and put Jericho to bed. However, Leanne was not too happy about it. 

The next day, Julian convinced Roscoe to call his friend for a favor. Roscoe’s friend arranged for a DNA test for Leanne, Dorothy, and Jericho to find the kid’s mother. Moreover, Sean brought food to the homeless people who walked past him again. However, they seemed a little off-putting to Sean. Roscoe told Julian that he had thirty minutes to bring the hair samples. So, he rushed into the nursery and pulled Jericho’s hair. Julian also managed to get Leanne’s hair while she caught him looking under her bed. 

Further, in Servant Season 3 Episode 3, he found Dorothy’s hair on her brush. Roscoe arrived, and Julian handed him the hair samples while Leanne watched them. The homeless woman knocked on Sean’s door to let her use his bathroom. He agreed, but Dorothy screamed when she saw the woman inside the house. The incident gave Dorothy an idea to make a story about the homeless. However, the story turned more into how Sean was doing good in the community by helping the homeless. 

The DNA Report Comes In

The family was watching the story when the DNA report came. Julian informed Dorothy that Jericho was not her biological son. However, Dorothy did not believe him and thought Julian had begun using again. Soon after, the blonde mother from the mommy-and-me group party dropped by to pick up her diaper nag she had forgotten. She also noticed her hairbrush on the kitchen table and took it along.

Unfortunately, it was the same brush from which Julian took the hair as he believed it was Dorothy’s. She told Julian not to do anything like that again. Leanne saw the homeless staring at her from the outside. She believed that they were from the Church of Lesser Saints in Servant Season 3 Episode 3.

The twelfth episode of Grown-ish Season 4 Episode 12 is titled “Mr. Right Now.” Nomi will be surprised to see Luna’s dad, Phil, back in the scenes. She will not be sure if she even wants Phil to be a part of Luna’s life. Zoey will try to rekindle her friendship with Doug and Luca in order to improve her internship experience in the upcoming episode. Moreover, she would be frustrated that the company she is working for is broke.

A Quick Recap!

In the previous episode, Anna rented a scooter and decided to head home before warning Vivek not to tell anyone about it. On her way, she was hit by a distracted driver in a Buick, who drove away immediately after the impact. Anna had some bruises as she was rushed into the hospital. The girls and Vivek arrived at the hospital to check up on Ana. But all Jazz asked her was if she had slept with Vivek. She was furious that Vivek told Jazz, Nomi, and Zoey about their hookup. Ana managed to get a look at the man who hit her scooter, and the police already had a suspect under custody. She went there and recognized the man straight away. 

However, she was reluctant to tell the police, an undocumented 17-year-old kid with no insurance or license. She did not want the kid to be deported. So, she asked the police to give her some time to think if the suspect was the man who hit her. She discussed the matter with his girlfriends, who offered different opinions on the decision. Frustrated, Ana went to see her ex-boyfriend Javi, who advised her to tell the truth. He reminded Ana to trust the system and tell the truth if she aspired to be a lawyer someday. 

Aaron Meets His Biggest Fan

A freshman at Cal U came to see Aaron after his midnight class. The kid was all dressed up with Aaron’s buttons on his jacket and a jumpsuit from last year’s prison protest. He also had the same bag as Aaron. Renard claimed that he was Aaron’s biggest fan and wanted him to be a part of his class. Aaron was a little freaked out by Renanrd’s approach but signed his form eventually. 

Moreover, in Grown-ish Season 4 Episode 11, Doug showed up at Keith’s place after being bet up by Luca. He informed Kieth that he came clean with Luca about them breaking up. He thought the two could be out in public together and asked Kirth for dinner. But, she informed Doug that she had plans with someone else. 

Vivek tells Aaron And Doug About Ana

Aaron and Dough both dropped by at Vivek’s place, who was dealing with being expelled, rejected by his parents, and busted with drugs. Doug talked about his insecurities about Kieth seeing other people, while Aaron was stressed about not meeting Renard’s expectations. Eventually, Vivek got fed up and gave the two men a reality check. He told Aaron to be the teacher he needed during his undergraduate days. Vivek also informed Doug that he did not want to be in a relationship. So, Kieth was perfect for him. 

Vivek also broke the shocking news that he hooked up with Ana. Hence, Doug decided to go on a date with an old friend. He ran into Kieth and her mysterious date at the bar. The duo began texting, and Kieth offered Doug to sneak into Hawkins 101. Next, the two ended up ditching their dates and made out on Kieth’s request. 

Eventually, Aaron decided to shift his class to the West building. He told the students that they would be having discussions in Cal U’s new African Salon regarding the African diaspora experiences. Ana went to the police station, to tell the truth, but she ended up not putting the young man through the system’s justice. She realized that she believed in the system, but it still needed some improvements. Vivek dropped by with a helmet to apologize for telling everyone about the hookup. He felt that Ana would want sex right away. However, she kicked him out of her house in Grown-ish Season 4 Episode 11.
