  • Cruel Summer Season 2: Renewed? Everything You Need To Know!

Cruel Summer Season 2: Renewed? Everything You Need To Know!

Soon after having a breathtaking finale, Freeform renewed Cruel Summer Season 2 to explore those loose ends left behind. Created by Bert V Royal, Cruel Summer follows the complicated story of two teenage girls. However, the high school outcast Jeanette Turner suddenly becomes the school’s popular girl after the sudden disappearance of queer Kate Wallis in the mid-1990s. Now that the psychology thriller returns with the second season, let’s see what story it would explore.

Cruel Summer Season 2: Is It Renewed Yet?

Freeform renewed Cruel Summer for the second run soon, a few hours after the first season finale hit the network. Soon showrunner Tia Napolitano went down the memory lane of making those ten episodes and called it the best first show-running experience. She even said that it is an absolute dream to continue with the second run and was grateful for the fans’ response.

Shortly, Freeform president Tara Duncan said renewing Cruel Summer Season 2 was an easy decision. The series hit the platform and has been the biggest series debut in the history of Freeform. Further, the overwhelmingly positive response made the decision easier. Duncan added EP Jessica Biel, Michelle Purple, and Tia did a marvelous job of telling such a story.

Cruel Summer Season 2: Who Could Be In The Cast?

Well, deeming the first season’s finale, it’s safe to guess that Olivia Holt will return as Kate Wallis with Chiara Aurelia as Jeanette Turner. Further, Froy Gutierrez as Jamie Henson, Brooklyn Sudano as Angela Prescott, and Allius Barnes as Vince Fuller will join. Harley Quinn Smith as Mallory Higgins will return with Michael Landes as Greg Turner and Nathaniel Ashton as Ben Hallowell. But Blake Lee’s Martin Harris died at the beginning of the show. Yet he appeared in Kate’s traumatic memory as flashbacks which he might continue in the next run.

Bert V Royal Left The Show

The series creator Bert V Royal officially stepped down as Cruel Summer’s showrunner ahead of season 2. As per The Hollywood Reporter, Royal left the show last summer amid the conflict with Freeform’s executive. But, when the show aired, Royal was still given credits for his work. Despite this, Royale decided to quit instead of choosing any back-end profit. Soon after Royal’s exit Jessica Biel and Tia Napolitano joined as EPs for the next run.

Cruel Summer Season 2: What To Expect?

The finale ended on a dramatic note where Jeanette learned that Kate was held prisoner but decided to do nothing. But, what will happen next remains a mystery. As Duncan said the team is in the early stage of mapping the second run. But the second run would continue with a super-twisty mystery. Perhaps each character would go through some psychological issues.

However, Deadline earlier reported that it would follow an anthology pattern featuring a new story with the same cast. So either it would follow multiple timelines while introducing a new group and dive into an entirely different era. If not, we might discover what happened with Kate and how she would find a way out of that prison.

Cruel Summer Season 2: When Will It Premiere?

It’s only been a month, and more after the finale dropped on the network. But, the executive producer Jessica Biel shortly confirmed that the second run would air somaetime in 2022. While Freeform is yet to confirm the official release date, we wouldn’t be surprised if season 2 follows the same release schedule. It means season 2 could return in April 2022 on Freeform. While it will air on August 2022 on Amazon Prime Video.

  • Westworld Season 4: Boss Promises To Explore A New World! What’s Next?

Westworld Season 4: Boss Promises To Explore A New World! What’s Next?

After a blasting third season finale, Westworld Season 4 is officially heading on a new quest. As the series co-creator, Lisa Joy has promised to bring some unexpected new worlds. While the series is currently filming, Lisa confirmed an addition in the cast, teasing some upcoming “fun elements” in the fourth run.

Based on Michael Crichton’s 1973 film of the same name, the series takes place in the 2050s, where Delos Inc operates several theme parks populated by hosts designed to fulfill the guest’s desires.

Creator Teases What To Expect From Westworld Season 4

HBO’s most buzzed series’ co-creator Lisa Joy recently joined Deadline’s Hero Nation podcast to talk about her directorial debut Reminiscence. While speaking about her film, she promises that Westworld Season 4 will see some new worlds.

Well, the series premiered with Delos Park, which was ruined in the second season. However, instead of rebuilding it in season 3, they explored the world outside the park. Now Joy’s tease raises doubts about whether this new world will explore the future events or take viewers to the past where they rebuilt the park.

Well, it’s hard to say anything yet. But Joy recently told ComicBook that they would explore something new. Perhaps this new world will bring revolution as both Dolores and Maeve started liking humans in the season finale. Meanwhile, Man In Black is slew by his own host version. Moreover, Joy defined season 4 as “Inversion,” so could that mean the past seasons’ elements would connect in season 4, bringing more meaning to the show.

Will It Adapt From The Original Source?

The series is an adaption of a 1973 film of the same name where they had introduced several different worlds. However, since the beginning of the series, it has first explored the Wild-West-themed amusement park. While the next season focused on Shogun world style theme park and an exotic jungle world. However, the series hasn’t explored the Medieval world and the Roman world yet, which was in the original film. So we can expect that season 4 would bring some elements of the source material.

It Is Just A Beginning Of New War

Well, the fourth season will be a bit heartbreaking. We previously learned that Caleb and Chalores would have their first encounter in the upcoming season. Caleb was introduced in the previous season that will play a significant role in season 4. The former soldier would eventually wage a battle against the humans in the real world, where the park’s robots have been infiltrated. However, the outcome of his action might bring both Caleb and Chalores face-to-face, causing more conflict in their world.

Westworld Season 4: Who Will Be In The Cast?

Thandiwe Newton as Maeve will return with Tessa Thompson as Charlotte Hale and Jeffrey Wright as Bernard Lowe. Besides them, Vincent Cassel as Engerraund Serac, Aaron Paul as Caleb, and Ed Harris as The Man In Black will also return. Despite Ed’s character being met with an ultimate demise in season 3’s finale, he would return. Further, Luke Hemsworth as Ashley Stubbs, Simon Quarterman as Lee Sizemore, and Angela Sarafyan as Clementine Pennyfeather could also return.

However, Joy recently teased that one of the Reminiscence stars would join the show. But she hasn’t teased who will be that star. Well, Reminiscence stars Hugh Jackman, Cliff Curtis, Rebecca Ferguson, and Daniel Wu. Thus there’s a possibility that someone amongst them will join the season as the movie has already starred two Westworld alums Thandiwe and Angela.

But to our surprise, Morty furiously blabbered to replace him, which Rick takes into account, and decided to use an insulting prize wheel to choose Morty’s replacement. So can they stay without each other? Well, it’s hard to guess, but the two crows on Rick’s list of things better than Morty are a bit perplexing.

Will Explore Rick And Morty’s Breakup Story

Well, the episode title teases that it would spoof 2008’s breakup film where Jason Segel tried to forget his love, Sarah Marshall. The promo confirmed that Rick and Morty’s duo would split in the following chapter. So it could mean that Morty would try to act that he doesn’t care about this replacement.

Further, the two crows here slightly feels similar to Odin’s ravens. So perhaps it could hint at the possibility of evil Morty’s return. Well, it could be possible and might bring more turmoil in Rick and Morty’s relationship. As we are aware of the true nature of evil Morty.

    Morty Might Need Some Help

While deeming the titles of episodes 9 and 10, episode 10 seems like an epilogue of episode 9, which perhaps explores the aftermath of Rick and Morty’s separation. If evil Morty returns, then the chances are high that he might try to capture Morty somewhere where Rick couldn’t find him. Thus its title, “Rickmuri Jack,” makes sense that he would go on an adventure to find Morty while fighting against the odds.

    A Time Loop Might Follow

There’s a slight possibility that both the episodes would be connected together. Morty’s solo adventure could reveal in the second half of the finale. So it could be possible he’s just trying to stop something from happening which might put their lives in danger. Further, Morty’s plead to replace him could be connected to the mission. But it seems he can’t stop those events from happening. Even this alternation in the timeline would indeed turn out as an inevitable lesson for him.
