Although the anime has covered the entire source material, it ended on a vague note. Thus, the characters’ fate remains unclear. With such a cliffhanger ending, there is hope that the studio may return with Good Night World Season 2. In the beginning, it is revealed that Shiro has destroyed Pico. However, the latter’s human version appeared towards the season’s end. She was in her high school appearance and started crying after seeing Ichi. That revealed the latter was also alive. Meanwhile, Hana’s character arc was left unexplored. It remained unclear who she was and what her relationship with Kojiro was.

Following the death of Samuel Garcia Dominguez in the fifth season, it is confirmed that Itzan Escamilla won’t return. However, his death marks the biggest return of Mina El Hammani’s Nadia Shanna, who returns to help her brother, Omar Shanna (Omar Ayuso), deal with Samuel’s death. Dr. Stone Season 3 Episode 20, entitled “First Dream,” hints that Senku will head to the next destination to discover the leftover supplies from his father. However, before heading to a new territory, Senku revives Chrome. He also informs the latter that they have won the battle.
