To get Paulina a check up from the doctor, he drops Holly’s party planning. Johnny deserts his step-sis and heads to the hospital to support his lady love. This completely shatters Holly’s heart and she helps herself to some, er, a lot of booze from the DiMera home-bar.

Later, a sloshed and upset Holly drunk dials Johnny and verbally bashes him on Days of Our Lives. She vents that he left her alone on her birthday and acts out, leaving Johnny really concerned. Chanel then urges Johnny to head back home and take care of a distraught Holly before she does anything stupid. In the recent past, Days of Our Lives has gone through many casting shifts. Some really loved characters have fallen of the screen and some have gone some crazy swaps. For the unversed, Camilla Banus has recently exited the soap as Gabi, Peter Porte too, has bowed out as Dimitri. However, the biggest shake up has been actress Emily O’Brien jumping from Gwen’s role on to Theresa Donovan’s. Upon Jen Lilley’s exit.

The latest word around the block is that amid all the exits, there is a possibility of a past character returning. The rumor mills started buzzing when the Days of Our Lives official Instagram page shared a cast photo on it’s story. Interestingly, the picture included DOOL alum – Mike Manning. Fans will remember him for portraying Charley Dale. The picture in question was snapped at  The Hollywood Museum’s TV history exhibit. Current cast members -Tamara Braun, Paul Telfer , Dan Feuerriegel, and Stacy Haiduk were also in the picture among others.

We wonder if this is a hint at Mike returning to the Days of Our Lives fold. Of course, it is possible that he just happened to be present at the exhibit and posed for a pic with his former castmates. But we still can’t shake off the feeling that there could be more to this. Sure, Charley is dead on the soap, but when has that ever stopped anyone from returning to life on Salem? In fact, Charley did come back to life temporarily once, thanks to the devil!

Besides, even if the makers would like to keep Charley dead, there are many other ways to bring Mike back. Nick Fallon is dead too. But his portrayer Blake Berris is back to Days of Our Lives as Everett Lynch. So, there is certainly a possibility that the makers might bring Mike Manning back as an all new character! Dimitri and Leo are the newest love birds on Days of Our Lives that quickly rose the ladder of fame. Even though they are sure shot troublemakers, , as a couple they are so endearing that fans can’t help but low key root for them. In fact, the actor duo – Peter Porte and Greg Rikaart had been whole heartedly cheering for the on-screen couple they play. Unfortunately, it so appears that the romance has been cut short on the Peacock drama!

A source close to the production has confirmed that Peter Porte has already filmed his exit from Days of Our Lives. As we know, Dimitri has been sent off to max security prison on DOOL. This is perhaps the last we have seen of him. However, there is no word on whether this exit is only temporary on permanent. But considering the fact that they did not kill off the character, there is certainly hope for a return.

In fact, a few weeks ago, Peter Porte and Greg Rikaart spilled in an interview that there is lot to come for Leo and Dimitri on Days of Our Lives. So, we can hope that at some point Dimitri will return. Moreover, nothing is ever permanent on DOOL anyway. Not even death. That’s just Soap 101 ! Maybe a bunch of episodes down the line, Leo will find a way to get Dimitri out of prison. Or maybe, Megan will make a comeback to help her son! He did get her and Kristen out of prison. So perhaps mamma Devil will return the favor?

Will Peter Porte Return As Dimitri on Days of Our Lives?

When Peter Porte had first appeared as Dimitri on Days of Our Lives, he admitted that he was absolutely thrilled by it. He had donned the character on DOOL spinoff – Beyond Salem, and thought that was that. However, when the maker’s offered him a contract for the mothership, he was ecstatic. Thus, Dimitri lovers can cling to the hope that Peter wouldn’t dismiss the opportunity of a comeback at a later point.

The actor is often busy with other projects like holiday movies for the Hallmark Channel, but when the time comes we anticipate that he will make time for DOOL again! Ardent fans of the Peacock soap will remember that Jamey decided to walk away from the soap in April, 2023. Jamey had taken to Twitter to announce that after 2 years of being a breakdown writer for DOOL, he has decided not to renew his contract. Which ended in May.

But it seems, the talented writer has had a change of heart! A couple of weeks ago, Days of Our Lives new new co-executive producer, Janet Drucker, reached out to Jamey Giddens. She asked him if he’d like to return to the ship- and he said Yes! During his recent visit on The Locher Room, he spilled a lot more than just the news of his return! Jamey explained what exactly he does as a “breakdown writer” and his love for the soap genre! Oh and also his favorite supercouple from the soap!

He admitted that Bo and Hope Brady were his first favorite super couple on Days of Our Lives. “They were both so gorgeous”, he gushed. Speaking about his love for writing, Jamie confessed that back when he was younger he thought he would become a novelist. However, in college, he applied to the ABC daytime writers’ program. And that’s when he first realized that he could do it for a living! Honestly, it is such a fun interview and so insightful about the soap universe. A must watch for all soap fans!
