The Witcher 2 Resumes Production

Netflix renewed The Witcher Season 2 even before the first season aired. Then, the team started production on the same earlier this year. Things were only taking pace when COVID-19 hit everyone and paused everything However, now, Netflix has announced that they would resume filming for Witcher Season 2 on August 17, 2020. The producers took on to Twitter to announce the news.

While the show was scheduled to start productions on August 17, it looks like the creators have started working before the schedule. Director Stephen Surjik took on to Twitter to update his followers on how it is to work in a coronavirus-compliant set. They are following the health precautions to be safe. However, it is still unclear how many members from the staff have come back on sets.

New Faces Joining The Show: Cast Details 

Netflix has recently revealed all the characters that will be a part of the second season. There will be some new faces who will join the cast for The Witcher Season 2. These new characters include Lambert and Coën. These characters will be played by Paul Bullion and Yaseen Atour, respectively. Along with them, Joel Adrian is rumored to join the cast as Henrik. With all this, there are rumors that The Witcher Season 2 will feature the Kaer Morgen, in the time where Witchers were trained. So, fans have been wondering if they would get to see Ciri getting trained? Maybe. 

Kim Bodnia from Killing Eve is coming in to play Witcher trainer- Vesemir. Joining him is Kristofer Hivju, who is coming in to play Nivellen. Other new cast members include Thue Ersted Rasmussen as Eskel, Mecia Simson as Francesca, Aisha Favuenne Ross, and Lydia and Agnes Bjorn as Veerena. It is rumored that Carmel Laniado is joining in as a young character- Violet.

There are many faces from the first season who are coming back for The Witcher Season 2. Among them are Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan. They will play Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri, respectively. More faces include Jaskier, and Triss. Eamon Farren is coming back as Cahir. These are many names among the few.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Hissrich revealed that The Witcher Season 2 would indeed be more intense. He explained that the first season was very much like the building blocks. They are constructing a world and setting up characters. They are putting them on paths and cracking things over.

Now, in The Witcher Season 2, things will really start taking place and acting. Characters will meet each other, and sometimes things will get along, and other times it won’t. All the things set up, whether it be Geralt and Yennefer, Geralt and Ciri or Yennefer and Ciri, are all from different kingdoms, and nobody gets to know that in the first season. However, the second season will bring them to the surface. So, the storytelling will be more in test and more focused. 

All Witcher’s fans can now take a sigh of relief. It looks like Witcher is on the platform for a long time. The creator has teased that they think that the show will at least be about seven seasons long. Not just this, Netflix has also announced an animated series of Witcher and also a prequel series called The Witcher: Blood Origin. The six-season prequel series will be set about 1200 years before the events of the original show, So, we can say Netflix is invested in the show for some time now.

The 100 Season 7 Episode 12: Release Date

The fans should better prepare themselves because they are about to see one of the most twisted episodes of the final season so far. The 100 Season 7 Episode 12 will air on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, on The CW.

Now soon it will serve as HBO Max’ original series starting with the next chapter. However, the network assured that the first season would air in 2021 on HBO Max before its next chapter premiere. It would take place as soon as the network takes the rights from the series’ parent network.

Michael Quigley, Executive Vice President Content Acquisitions of WarnerMedia, said that they are thrilled to have such shows, since such ground-breaking and amusing shows would boost their slate. They are glad to welcome The Other Two Season 2 and bring the diverse comedic voices on their network. Michael said: “We know our viewers will want to watch (this show) again and again.”

Michael continued that they have considered their viewers first and then took this decision. Since their priority is to introduce such standout comedies to a bunch of new viewers on HBO Max. Michael added: “We are thinking of the fans first. And adding these unique series to our list. (It) allows us to introduce these live-action comedies to new viewers on HBO Max.”

ViacomCBS Discussed Their Plans

Recently, Keyes Hill-Edgar, Chief Operating Officer of ViacomCBS Entertainment and Youth Brands, explained their strategy. They logically planned to expand the franchise by collaborating with other parties. This symbolic step is taken to boost its content by working with other networks while prioritizing their own franchise. Keyes said: “We shift our strategy and double down on adult animation, tropical shows, and scripted movies. We are excited to supercharge our studio sales business and continue with these great series with HBO Max.”

In January, Showtime announced that Shameless Season 11 would return for one last time on the platform. Despite the huge changes in the ninth season, the series made its way till here. When Emmy Rossum, as Fiona Gallagher left the show in the ninth season, fans wondered whether the series could make it further or not. However, after Fiona, Debbie (Emma Kenney) took the lead and handled their family matters back in the tenth season. But, due to the ongoing pandemic, the filming went on hold for an undefined period. In the 2020 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour, the network announced the renewal of Shameless Season 11 officially for its final run. The network took to Twitter and confirmed their final chapter by posting a short video. Further, Showtime’s President Gary Levine revealed that the next season would air this summer. Also it will still be the last run and get ready to enjoy the madness. Gary added that the showrunner John Wells and his fantastic cast will return with a bang one last time.

Shameless Season 11: When Would Filming Resume?

The showrunner had expected the final season to land this summer on the network. However, the ongoing pandemic has spilled the water on their plans. On March 18, Kenney announced that Shameless Season 11 filming would begin from the day. Unfortunately, production halted soon because of the current health crisis. So, there’s no update as when it would resume their filming for the final run. However, the more they will stretch their schedule, the more things would turn problematic for them.

After Rossum left the series in the ninth season, everything turned on Kenny’s shoulder. However, Kenny and her co-stars also had other commitments to wrap up. Kenny has another project, The Conners, to shoot. On which, Bruce Helford, The Conners Executive Producer, revealed that both the series have the same schedule time to resume filming. So, it would be quite tricky for Kenny to deal with both the shows. However, Bruce assured that “we’ll make it work” despite her busy schedule.

Rossum Might Return In The Final Run

It would be the second season without Rossum, except she chooses to return for the final call as Cameron Monaghan (Ian Gallagher) returned in the tenth season with a bang. In an interview, Rossum said that she hasn’t cut off the strings with the series. She just moved to New York, so there’s no big deal to return home. But, it’s unclear what story arc she would depict if she returns.

Further, the showrunner disclosed that they are hoping that Fiona would return. However, he doesn’t know how things would change afterward. But, it would be a pleasure to work with her again. Wells said: “She’s surely a very talented actress. But Rossum’s also a very talented director and writer, and she’s interested in exploring some other things creatively for herself.” But, he’s hoping that Rossum would agree to return when he calls her.

Unfortunately, Hulu decided not to renew the show for its fourth season. The creators announced that the third season would conclude the show even before its premiere. Runaway became the second longest-running Marvel Tv series after Agents of SHIELD. No series of Marvel ever made past the third season except for AOS. However, the creators didn’t provide any particular reason to cancel Runaways Season 4. 

Will There Be A Fourth Season?

The main reason behind the cancelation of the fourth season is said to be the low ratings of the series. Less than 1 million people tuned in to watch the initial two seasons. Therefore, Hulu decided to cancel the dead run of the series by giving it a proper conclusion.

Additionally, the third season ended without any loose ends to tie for Runaways Season 4. Therefore it is safe to believe that the fans will not see the fourth season anytime in the future. Marvel is eventually ending all of its currently running series. It might be possible now that they only want to focus on the series they announced for Phase 4 recently. With a bunch of new shows in production, Marvel is getting rid of its old productions it seems.

What Runaways Season 4 Would’ve Looked Like?

The only good news is that the creators bid a proper farewell to the series in the finale of the third season. However, they left one thing for the fans to interpret. The team has successfully saved the world several times and also repaired their relationships with their parents. But the only thing that is lingering is the note of future Alex that he left for his younger self. It advised him to infiltrate Wilder Innovators, hide Victor Mancha, and then kill Nico. And then the credits started to roll. 

So, if there would’ve been Runaways Season 4, the viewers will see what Alex will decide to do regarding the information from the note. The viewers might also see any new antagonist to threaten the world. But it is all in the imagination now.
