The first season of Sweet Magnolias that released this May 2020 ended on a huge cliffhanger. The way the show ended left all viewers on the edge of their seats. Thankfully Netflix renewed Sweet Magnolias Season 2 on July 23, 2020. This assured all the fans that the answers we were all waiting for would be given to us soon. 

Based on Sherryl Woods novels with the same name, Sweet Magnolias is an American romantic drama series that airs on Netflix. Sheryl J. Anderson acts as the showrunner for the series. The show stars JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Heather Headley, Brooke Elliott, and Jamie Lynn Spears. Now that the second season is announced, it is time we start seeing what would come up next. Sweet Magnolias Season 2: What’s Coming Up Next?

The first season ended on quite a cliffhanger with a huge car crash. So, without a doubt, Sweet Magnolias Season 2 will pick up exactly where the first season ended. It will address Kyle’s condition after the accident and was there someone else with him.

Another major question we will get the answer to is Will Maddie take Bill back? More questions that will be answered in the second season will be- Who are Isaac’s birth parents? Could there be something for Helen and Erick? Could Ty and Annie get together? Will Noreen come back in the next season?

After Sweet Magnolias addressed the top concerns from the first season, we can expect JoAnna to stir up more drama with her new boyfriend on the show- Cal. Sheryl J. Anderson says that she would like to have the moment where Maddie blows up something really great with Cal. She would like to witness the journey and the very moment where she figures things out after the dust settles down a bit.

On the brighter side, the creators have a lot of stories they can follow for the next season. The show is based on Sherryl Woods’ books with the same name, and it has eleven books. Three books of the series have been used in the first season. So, even after all of that, eight books are left that the creators can use to bring more of the show.

Sherryl Woods On The Sweet Magnolias Series

The author of the book, Sherryl Woods, has worked on the show with the whole Sweet Magnolia team. Recently she has confirmed that they are all very keen to bring more and more of the show on the screen. Responding to a fan’s list of story arcs that they would like to be solved, Woods tweeted that they might take two more seasons to do everything that the fan wants. It might even be three or four.

Sherryl Woods has assured fans that the whole writing staff is aware of how desperate fans are for Sweet Magnolias Season 2. She asked her fans to have faith. In a statement, Woods says that the fans must know that they are pouring all their hearts into bringing all the answers and the new questions for the second season. That for sure means that the upcoming season will come bearing a number of answers that the fans had been looking forward to.

When Would The Show Hit The Screens?

Speaking about when the show would hit our screens, the showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson says that they are quite anxious to continue at the moment. So, they will go back in a hot second whenever it gets safe to go out there. The director and executive producer- Norman Buckley, plans to get back to business as soon as the health crisis subsides.

Adding to this, Sherryl Woods, the writer, says that it is very hard to answer when the show would release. They are all still trying to figure out the precautions they would have to take and how that would impact the production. There is a lot of uncertainty there. Schitt’s Creek Season 7: The father-son duo Eugene and Dan Levy swept off everyone when they came to Netflix with their sitcom- Schitt’s Creek. Six seasons of the show and nobody is done with it. The latest and the sixth season of the show released earlier this year and it already feels like forever.

All we want to know is, will we get Schitt’s Creek Season 7? The sixth season bagged nine Primetime Emmy Awards and that just took our expectations higher. What are the creators planning? Here is all about it-

Has It Been Renewed?

The sixth season was the last of the show. While many fans would love to continue to watch the show to eternity and spend a lot of time with the riches-to-rags, the Rose family, it looks like we might not get more of the show. Back in spring 2019, the creator of the show Dan Levy announced that the show is ending with an emotional post telling everyone that the sixth season will be it’s last. Check out the post here-

When Schitt’s Creek was renewed for two more seasons in its fourth year, Levy had begun plotting the ending arc of the show. The show had great viewership and Levy at that time knew how he wanted to end the show.

Levy says that it was important for them to make the last episodes of the show great episodes. They didn’t want to make the show feel bloated with a backlog of revelations. They wanted a quick wrap. In fact, Levy thinks that the finale episode- ‘Six Feet Under’ was one of the greatest finales they could have imagined. It is fresh, unexpected, creative, and emotional. It spoke to the show’s format and how they should end it.

Will Schitt’s Creek Season 7 Ever Happen?

By the end of the sixth season, David and Patrick were married, Alexis had decided to pursue a career in NY, Johnny and Moira were heading to Los Angeles where Moira could start working on the soap opera reboot. Johnny also had an idea of a start-up which was also taking shape. It did somehow feels like the end of the story, but there is so much more the creators could explore with the story.

With that said, there is always a possibility for a spin-off or a movie for such great storylines. Danielle Levy right now has his hands full with a three-year deal with ABC but he is open to revisit these characters later on. In an interview, he said that if everyone must believe him. It is hard for him to let go. He could have done 100 more seasons. That means Schitt’s Creek Season 7 is not entirely out of the question. So, let’s just be hopeful there.

What Could Happen Next?

As we mentioned before, the Schitt’s Creek story ended with David and Patrick getting married. They have their own store. Alexis had decided to pursue her career in Marketing and PR. Moira was going to L.A. to get back to soap acting and Johnny was starting his new business. While the show ended with all these characters successfully discovering themselves, a spin-off or a time jump would do no harm.

If Schitt’s Creek Season 7 ever happens, the creators could tell the tale of David and Patrick’s marital life. They could even explore how their store would have become a chain. As for Alexis, fans would be more than happy to know how her career takes off. Would she found someone romantically?

It would be great to see how and who Alexis would have become years after the events of Schitt’s Creek. Not just that, we would love to know what happened to Jonny and his start-up. Was it a good decision to trust the newbies? Maybe, maybe not. Not just this, we would like to see Patrick running for council and know where Ted is and how his life is. Could the seventh season bring Alexis and Ted together?

Prodigal Son Season 2: Renewal Status & Production Details

The first season of Prodigal Son was released in September 2019. After that, fans started hoping that Prodigal Son Season 2 would release around the same time in 2020. But then Fox took all the time it needed to confirm the fate of the show. Last year, Fox canceled all its scripted shows just after the first season. So, that made fans worried about what would happen to Prodigal’s son. However, Prodigal Son has been able to bag a second season. The creators had a lot of faith in the show, but they confirmed that Prodigal Season 2 would happen only in May 2020.

A few months ago, Tom Payne, the lead actor, revealed that they were planning to get into production in October. They were trying to figure out how they would be doing it, keeping in mind all the safety measures. In an interview, Payne says that they feel amazing about the renewal, but they were still in a bit of air at that time. Fast-forward to today, the team has completed the production and is all set to come back with the second season.

More Flashbacks In The Second Season

Payne revealed that back in the time, he was trying to grow his hair and beard because he has a strong look in Prodigal Son season 2. He says that they do a lot of flashbacks on the show. So, they will have to go back to a period before he was arrested. Before he was even discovered. The actor says that he was a successful surgeon. So, he has a well-do-to life in New York before he was even arrested. So, they will be going back and forth. 

In the time he was in prison, viewers get to see the wilder, wolfish look. It comes out and kind of takes everyone closer to who he really is. So, they will also go back and forth with the beard. So, all this time has given him an opportunity to grow the beard. 

What’s Coming Next?

While we don’t exactly know when The Prodigal Son Season 2 would bring, it looks like the next installment will dig deeper into Malcolm’s own psychopathic tendencies. One question that the second season will explore is whether or not evil can be inherited in the DNA, or do people choose to be the kind of person they are?

Viewers can expect to see some philosophical explanations of this question. The second season will once again draw take inspiration from other crime thrillers. The short teaser does suggest that the show will focus on Ainsley Whitley after the way the first season ended. The second season will also see the viewers as he deals with Malcolm dealing with the demons by the family situation.

FOX has confirmed that the Prodigal Son Season 2 will start airing on Fox from January 12, 2021. The show, however, will move from its Monday slot to Tuesday slot. While the creators have not yet announced any details about the upcoming episode, it is very hard to predict what would come up. Penny Dreadful Season 4: What’s The Status?

The latest season of Penny Dreadful, the third season concluded in May 2016. The season was able to bag great critical review with 93% Rotten Tomatoes and 83 on 100 by Metacritic. However, even after such great ratings, it looks like we will not get Penny Dreadful Season 4.

After the third season of the show aired, creator John Logan announced that the third season would be the last of the show as the story has concluded, and he does not see any scope is dragging the show further. This ending was more of a creative decision.

Will It Ever Happen?

It does not look like Penny Dreadful Season 4 will ever happen. John Logan had realized it in the second season, that the third would be the end of the show. The third season sees Vanessa dying as Chandler’s noble sacrifice. As for the creator, Logan feels that this end was the natural end of the story and the end of the show itself.

With that said, there were a number of unresolved storylines in the Penny Dreadful series. These storylines include Ethan’s werewolf backstory and Dracula’s fate story. Despite all of these stories, we suggest fans not wait for Penny Dreadful season 4.

Logan feels that the story would not continue without Vanessa. This show indeed is a supernatural one, and while Vanessa could be resurrected, Logan seems determined to not wake Vanessa from her peace. So, that would mean that we will never get Penny Dreadful Season 4.

Penny Dreadful: City of Angels- The Spin-off

Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, a spin-off series for Penny Dreadful recently released in April 2020. Starring Natalie Dormer, the series soon became the talk of the town. However, the spin-off series has not received great reviews or ratings. The spin-off series is set 50 years after the events of the original show. It takes us to the 1930s, the Golden Age of Hollywood.

Set in Los Angeles, the characters are connected to a dispute between the Mexican deity- Santa Muerte and her sister Magda, a demoness. The detectives Tiago Vega and Lewis Michener go on to investigate a murder where they find themselves deeper and deeper into the history of the city. They even get involved in the tensions between Nazi conspiracies and racial hostilities.

The series failed to either bag viewership or the ratings. So, fans must not be hopeful for either Penny Dreadful Season 4 or more of the spin-off series. If anything does changes about the show, we will keep you updated. So, you stay tuned.
