Back in 2012, famous mangaka ONE began the serialization of the Mob Psycho 100 manga series. The highly successful manga ran for several years until its conclusion in 2018. In total, it comprised of sixteen volumes containing 101 chapters in them. Out of these, the debut season of its anime adaptation used the first 50 manga chapters. Whereas, Season 2 adapted its source material up to Chapter 92.2.

Technically, the anime creators have less than nine manga chapters for Mob Psycho 100 Season 3. Clearly, these will not be enough to create a full season of the anime. Fortunately, the last few chapters of the manga have plenty of sub-chapters to be used in the sequel. Chapter 97 has 13 sub-chapters, while Chapter 98 and 100 have 12 and 17 sub-chapters, respectively. In total, Studio Bones still has around 65 manga chapters for a new installment. Hence, there’s still enough content if the producers are interested in the sequel.

What Will It Be About?

As mentioned above, the latest installment of the popular anime will adapt the manga after Chapter 92.2. It will also include the upcoming sub-chapters. Hence, the first few episodes of Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 will cover the Broccoli arc. Whereas the next few episodes will likely be about the Telepathy Club arc, followed by the ???% arc. Drifters is an immensely famous manga series written and illustrated by Kouta Hirano. It’s serialization began back in 2010 and is currently running with six volumes already released (as of November 2018). Due to its popularity, the manga was soon picked up for an anime adaptation produced by NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan. The 12-episode series was animated by Hoods Drifters Studio (Hoods Entertainment) and debuted in Japan back in October 2016.

Drifters Season 2: Officially Renewed!

Yes, fortunately, the highly-awaited second season of the anime has officially been renewed. In fact, the renewal was announced alongside the finale of the debut season. Towards the end of its last episode, a message was displayed saying, “To be continued Second Season. See you again. Tokyo 20XX. Sayonara.” Hence, Drifters Season 2 is likely to premiere sometime in the near future. However, using “20XX” gives them the liberty to change the release as per their need.

Well, the first few episodes of the sequel were released as OVA episodes soon after Season 1’s end. As of now, three Drifters OVA episodes have already aired. Though these episodes are only available in Japan, that too in the form of DVD and Blu-Ray discs. Hoods Drifters Studio or any other producers of the anime have not approved their international release yet.

Why Is The Sequel Delayed?

Well, unlike most anime series, Drifters was renewed right after its first season ended. Yet, it’s been four years, and we haven’t heard of its return. One of the main reasons behind its delay is the lack of source material. As of 2020, the producers of the anime do not have sufficient content for Season 2.

The Drifters manga series consists of a total of 6 volumes (the last one came out in October 2018). The first season of anime covered the plot of the first four volumes. Hence, the studio only has two more volumes for Drifters Season 2. Clearly, the remaining source material won’t be enough for a full season. Besides, the three OVA episodes have already adapted half the chapters of Volume 5.

Well, writer-illustrator Kouta Hirano usually releases one volume of his manga every two years. Since the last one came out two years ago, Volume 7 might arrive sometime this year (2020). Similarly, the eighth volume may not come out before 2022. Hence, the producers of the anime will have to wait until the manga serialized Volume 9.

When Will The Productions Begin?

Since there is not enough source material now, NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan might wait until 2022 for the eighth volume. Once that comes out, the creators might begin the productions of the new season. Based on its history, the Drifters anime series takes quite long to produce a season. Hence, Drifters Season 2 might take a year to wrap up its production schedule.

Drifters Season 2: Release Date

As mentioned above, the latest season of the well-known Isekai anime might begin productions by 2022. Besides, after that, the installment is likely to take a year to hit the screens. Well, anime producer CloverWorks and studio A-1 Pictures (and Trigger) are yet to announce the official renewal. However, that does not confirm that Darling In The FranXX Season 2 is canceled. As compared to US television shows, Japanese anime tend to take longer to release a sequel. In fact, some of these shows can take as long as four to five years (examples – One-Punch Man and Attack On Titan). Since it has only been a few years, there’s still hope for DITF’s second season.

Has Berserk Season 3 Been Renewed?

The 2016 anime adaptation received heavy criticism due to its animation style. Yet, it managed to gain a massive fan following from all around the globe. Moreover, it also earned a huge profit for its producers. Simultaneously, both the seasons of the show helped increase the sales of its source material. Thus, looking at its popularity, the studio may not cancel the series anytime soon.

Although the final scene of Berserk 2017 (Season 2) was switched back to 2D animation, which the fans appreciated. When Will The New Season Premiere? 

No new seasons of the Berserk anime adaptation have been released since 2017. It’s a speculation that the third season would not return until it has a new manga volume to promote. The sales of its source material gain a large section of the revenue of any anime. Hence, most of their installments are aired nearby the launch of a manga/LN volume. Similarly, the 2016 and 2017 Berserk anime seasons spiked the sales of Volume 38, 39, and 40 (that released in 2016, 2017 & 2018, respectively). Moreover, the 2012 movie series adaptation promoted Volumes 36 & 37 (2011 and 2013).

Sadly, no new manga volume has released since 2018. In the last two decades, mangaka Kentaro Miura has taken frequent hiatuses as volumes release irregularly. However, these hiatuses don’t last longer than two or three years. Hence, Volume 41 is likely to come out sooner this year or in 2021. Therefore, Berserk Season 3 might premiere a few months before or after the manga volume’s launch.

The Berserk manga series has been running for more than 30 years now. In its long run, the manga has been published for forty volumes, as of mid-2020. Well, the anime adaptations have only covered half of the source material available. The 2012 movie series continued the plot of the 1997 anime series and covered the Golden Age Arc. Whereas, the 2016 adaptation was a sequel to the 2012 anime movies, although it skipped the Lost Children Arc. The 2017 second season that featured the Falcon Of The Millenium Empire story ended with Chapter 301 of Volume 25.

All in all, the upcoming season of anime can adapt fifteen volumes, including several skipped chapters from previous volumes. Hence, there is more than enough source material for Berserk Season 3 and more seasons in the future. The new episodes will likely cover the remaining 57 chapters of the Falcon Of The Millenium Empire story. The third installment might also begin the Fantasia arc.

Berserk Season 3: Release Date

As mentioned above, any new anime episodes may not release until Volume 41 of the manga comes out. The manga volume will probably come out this year or 2021. As of July 2020, a total of nine volumes of the manga have been published in Takeshobo’s digital publication. In 2017, it was picked up for a 13-episode anime adaptation by Kinema Citrus. The anime series received critical acclaim and a fanbase of millions from all around the globe.

Hence, soon after the first season’s debut, its studio announced the renewal of a sequel. However, unlike what fans had expected, it came in the form of an anime film. The sequel film called Made Abyss: Dawn Of The Deep Soul, debuted in theatres in January 2020 and continued the story of the first season. Before that, Kinema Citrus had already released two compilation films (of Season 1) on the big screen in January 2019.

When Does S2 Productions Begin?

Kinema Citrus has finally confirmed the renewal of the second season. However, the studio is yet to begin its productions. One of the main reasons behind the delay is due to the lack of source material. Until recently, the creators of the anime did not have enough manga chapters to create a full installment. Fortunately, now that Volume 9 has been released, the studio will only need one more manga volume.

The first season of the TV anime covered the plot of 26 manga chapters (halfway through Volume 4). Whereas the Dawn Of The Deep Soul movie featured the Bondrewd story arc that ends will Chapter 38. With the recently released Volume 9, the manga now contains a total of 55 chapters. This leaves us with only 17 chapters for the second season.

Kinema Citrus will need one more manga volume to produce Made In Abyss Season 2. As of now, Volume 10 is expected to come out sometime around the middle of 2021. Hence, the productions of the new installment might begin after the tenth volume is launched.

What Will Be The Plot Of Made In Abyss Season 2?

The upcoming installment is expected to continue the story of the Dawn Of The Deep Soul movie. Hence, it will probably feature the Capital Of The Unreturned in the sixth layer. Our leading characters, Riko, Reg, and Nanachi, enter the sixth layer via the altar following Meinya. Not long after they make their last dive, they find themselves stuck in the Narehate Village of Ilblu, populated by the Hollows. The four of them discover mysteries, terrors, and bewildering truths as soon as they reach the deepest depths of the Abyss.

As Riko awakens the sixth layer, she loses her companions on the way. While searching for them, the lead character falls deep into the Village of the Hollows, where she’s forced to make difficult decisions. Later on, she discovers the harrowing origin story of the Village of the Hollows.

Made In Abyss: Dawn Of The Deep Soul Movie Delayed In The US!

The latest Made In Abyss movie made it to the Japanese theatres back in January 2020. The English dubbed and subbed versions of the same were expected to premiere in the US between April 13 and 15, 2020. However, the screenings have been canceled due to the tragic COVID-19 outbreak. As of today, theatrical screenings of films are still prohibited. Hence, the anime movie may not debut in the US anytime soon.

Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series and films for their English dubbed and subbed version for release in North America, UK, and Ireland. As of now, they haven’t announced the new US release date of Made In Abyss: Dawn Of The Deep Soul movie. As per the current situation, it’s hard to say when theatrical screenings will resume. Hataraku Saibou Season 2 Plot Details!

The Cells At Work! manga series has a total of five volumes that consist of 25 chapters. Out of these, around 14 chapters were covered in the 13-episode first season of the anime adaptation. Mostly, each episode of the anime featured the story of one of these chapters. The upcoming season of the animated show is expected to cover the remaining source material.

David Production revealed that the first episode of Cells At Work Season 2 would be about the strongest enemy of the human cells. Hence, it will center around the “Intestines” and diseases related to them as they create a fuss in the body. Well, this theme of the story corresponds to the plot of Chapter 20 (Volume 5) of the manga. This chapter talks about H. Pylori, a type of bacteria that grows in the digestive tract and tends to attack the stomach lining. The infection of this bacteria leads to ulcers in the stomach and small intestine. Moreover, they can also lead to several diseases in some people.

While the first episode is expected to talk about the Intestines, other episodes might cover the plot of the remaining manga chapters. Some exciting and informative themes include Acquired Immunity, Acne, Dengue Fever, Cancer Cell, and more. Well, the studio hasn’t confirmed the number of episodes for the sequel. Based on the manga chapters available, Cells At Work Season 2 might only have ten episodes.

Code Black Spin-Off Series & Platelets Go To The Theatre Movie!

Alongside Cells At Work!! (two exclamation signs representing Season 2) fans will get to watch two brand-new spin-offs of the franchise. One of these will be an anime series adaptation of the Hataraku Saibou Code Black spin-off manga. The studio confirmed this anime spin-off in April 2020 and released the first poster as well. A firm release date has not been confirmed, although it is will hit the screens sometime in January 2021.

The Cells At Work Code Black anime series will be a standalone story. It will feature new characters, including a male RBC and a female WBC in the lead. Hence, a brand-new set of cast members will voice these characters. In fact, the animation of the spin-off has been handed over to Liden Films, instead of David Production.

On the other hand, David Production has been working on an anime movie adaptation this year. The new movie is called Cells At Work! The Platelets Go To The Movie Theatres. The staff of the first season will return for the production of the film. As the title suggests, the cutest characters of the anime, the Platelets, will be watching a movie after work. It will premiere in theatres on September 5, 2020.

Recently, David Production has finally announced the premiere of the much-awaited sequel. The official website and social media handles of the anime reveal that the first episode of Cells At Work Season 2 will premiere at a Special Screening on September 5, 2020. Yes, the second season and Platelets movie will be screened in Japanese theatres, simultaneously.

However, the rest of the second installment episodes will broadcast on Tokyo MX (and other channels) in January 2021. The first season of its anime adaptation consumed 173 out of the 624 manga chapters available. Studio Pierrot then slowed down the pace of the anime in the second season which adapted only 78 chapters.

The mangaka previously confirmed that the third season of the anime would cover the Coalition Invasion story arc. Hence, its story will begin from Chapter 261 through 356, adapting a total of 96 chapters. Thus, the studio has more than enough source material left for Kingdom Season 4 and ahead. The fourth season is likely to continue the plot from Chapter 357. As per speculation, the installment might cover around four or five story arcs. Hence, it might feature the Koku You Campaign arc, the Beuracrats Job story arc, and the Western Zhao Invasion arc.

According to reports, Madhouse might adapt this story as the plot of Death Note Season 2. However, as fans did not like the end of the Special One Shot manga, we hope that the studio will come up with another conclusion.

Death Note Season 2: Release Date
